My name is Alberto Zambrano, I was born in Monterrey, Mexico in 1962 and had the blessing of being raised on a great ranch! The name of our family ranch is “Alcon” which my Father, also named Alberto, came up with as it is the first 2 letters of his name (Alberto) & the first 3 letters of my Mother’s name (Connie).
My parents were very lucky to be able to study in the United States in the early 1950’s, which was a tradition in their family. They did the same for their kids, me & my 3 younger sisters. I was sent to study in Mississippi, my oldest sister studied in Switzerland, my middle sister actually wanted to stay and study in Mexico and my youngest sister studied in Paris. We all had great experiences growing up in a different country.
Before coming to the U.S., I studied Graphic Design in Monterrey; I spent some time in Europe (Spain), Switzerland, France, Norway, Finland, Portugal, Italy, Germany & Russia. I worked for the 1986 World Cup in Mexico & from there I went to the Caribbean and worked on an American fishing boat. After a great time and experience doing that, I returned to Monterrey Mexico & began working at Perless Pumps, which ironically was the same company that my Father had his first job. We sold water pumps across South America as well as into Saudi Arabia. I then moved on to work for my Father’s Brother’s company, which manufactured and sold safety equipment for factory workers.
I still felt that I had not found”my place” in the world and then in 1993 I met Bill McGannon of Dallas, a great man and owner of McGannon & Associates which was and still is a furniture wholesaler with years of experience in the furniture industry. I asked him if he would be interested in doing something with me, he jumped at the idea immediately and thus begins the story of then Durango and now Noble Rogue. Now 20 years later, thanks to incredible customer and our great staff, I am still here living my dream!
